Lamine Yamal scored another brace after having scored two goals in the last game against Rayo Vallecano. Raphinha also continued his goalscoring run, scoring another goal in this match, as did Fermin Lopez, who had also scored against Elche and Athletic Club. Pedri scored the remaining one goal.
However, one player for whom this was not a memorable night in particular was the defender Eric Garcia. The Spaniard was unable to continue because of the blow and asked to be substituted, and Jules Kounde took his position on the pitch. At this point, the Catalans had already taken a two-goal lead over their hosts.
Although detailed tests are yet to be undertaken on him, it looks like he has a deviated septum. He was able to leave the pitch walking comfortably, and was initially examined on the sidelines by Dr. Pruna.
While this does not seem to be anything serious, the defender was not taking any risks, especially as he had suffered a broken nose last season, and had to play several matches wearing a mask.
Going forward, the defender was already going to get some rest this week, as he is suspended for the UEFA Champions League opener against Feyenoord. But hopefully, detailed diagnosis will only bring good news for him, and rule out any serious issue for the defender, who has consolidated himself as a key part of Hansi Flick’s plans for this Barcelona team.
