Two-time NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas has expressed a desire to continue his basketball career.
Despite being hired by the Boston Celtics as a pro and college scout and not playing last season, Thomas hopes to play at least one more season overseas.
"I want to hoop overseas for a year! I want that experience! And to cook them boys over that water," Thomas wrote on X.
Thomas already hinted at a potential EuroLeague move
Last December, Thomas also raised the possibility of playing in the EuroLeague, hinting on social media that he was considering it.
"Thinking about slidin to the EuroLeague…. I just want to hoop," the former Celtics guard posted on X.
Thomas spent the 2025-26 season without a team, while his last NBA stint came during the 2023–24 season, when he appeared in 6 games with the Phoenix Suns.
In the 2024-25 season, he appeared in 14 G League games with the Salt Lake City Stars, where he dominated with averages of 29.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.
Selected 60th overall in the 2011 draft by the Sacramento Kings, Thomas went from a late second-round pick to a two-time All-Star.
His peak came with the Boston Celtics in 2016–17, when he averaged 28.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three.
Currently, Thomas is based in his hometown of Seattle, giving Boston's president of basketball operations Brad Stevens additional support on the West Coast as a scout.
