Liverpool have continued to invest heavily in the future of their squad, with the club’s recruitment team making a number of moves for some of the most promising young players in world football.
The Reds enjoyed one of the busiest transfer windows in Europe, while their long-term planning has also remained firmly in focus.

Liverpool have added teenage talents including Senegalese defender Mor Talla N’Diaye and Austrian centre-back Ifeanyi Ndukwe, while Armin Pecsi and Colombian midfielder Samuel Martinez have also arrived within the last 12 months.
And Liverpool’s latest piece of business could prove particularly significant for their goalkeeping department.
The club have completed a deal worth up to £30 million for an 18-year-old goalkeeper who will not actually arrive at Anfield until the summer of 2027.
The teenager has signed a six-year contract but will remain with his current club, Genk, for the 2026/27 season.
Liverpool’s decision to move early could already be paying dividends.
On Sunday, the Belgian side faced Anderlecht at Lotto Park, with their new Liverpool-bound goalkeeper starting between the posts.
Genk earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw, with the teenager keeping a clean sheet against one of Belgium’s biggest clubs.
Lucca Brughmans, the 6ft 7in Genk prospect officially signed for Liverpool on September 1.
Brughmans has started all four of Genk’s matches this season and added another important performance to his record against Anderlecht.
Although the game finished without a goal, Genk had to withstand sustained pressure.
Anderlecht enjoyed 53.6% possession and registered 12 shots compared to Genk’s eight. Four of those efforts were on target, while Genk’s defence made 31 clearances during the match.
Brughmans made four saves to preserve his clean sheet, while Anderlecht were unable to find a breakthrough despite having four corners and completing 543 passes at an accuracy of 88.2%.
It was another encouraging display from the goalkeeper Liverpool have identified as a potential long-term option.
The Reds already have significant depth in the position, with Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman and Vitezslav Jaros currently among their senior goalkeeping options.
However, Alisson’s contract is due to expire next summer, while uncertainty has surrounded Mamardashvili’s long-term future.
Liverpool therefore appear to be planning well in advance.
The £30m figure for Brughmans includes potential add-ons, with the guaranteed fee lower than the maximum package.
At 18, the Belgian has already represented his country at youth level and is gaining valuable senior experience at Genk before his scheduled move to Merseyside.
His latest outing will only strengthen Liverpool’s belief that they have secured one of Belgium’s most promising young goalkeepers.
A clean sheet against Anderlecht may only be one match, but Brughmans’ four-save performance offered another early reminder of why Liverpool were prepared to invest so heavily in a goalkeeper they will have to wait almost a full year to welcome to Anfield.
