Gilbert Arenas Fires Back As 'Big Baby' Glen Davis Accuses Major Ex-NBA Players Of Stealing Money

Days after ‘Big Baby’ Glen Davis sat down for an interview and name-dropped several NBA players, suggesting they got away with stealing money, Gilbert Arenas responded to being named among the other legends he mentioned, like Tony Allen and Chris Bosh.
Arenas took to social media and clarified that he had no part in such a scheme, and this seems like a way for Davis to try to deflect the bad publicity he was receiving after being found guilty in the NBA’s healthcare scam in 2023.
“When you say Gilbert Arenas, (you mean) me?” asked Gilbert Arenas. “Brother, the only money that I’ve stolen was that NBA contract money. Yeah, when I was sitting, they were paying me $66 million. Yeah, that was the same time you were doing that ‘Broke Ni—a Scam.’”
“I don’t know where my name came in, brother. I don’t know anything about this…I got my card after y’all did this, allegedly. So that means I still got all the 600, 700 thousand dollars or whatever was on that card. I still got it,” Arenas said of the healthcare benefits which Davis and his cohorts misused.
“You need some? You really wanna try it again? Come on, Big Baby, come on man…what…Cuttino Mobley, what is this, man? Whoever got in trouble got in trouble, bro. That’s it. Try again,” Arenas concluded.
While denying any involvement in the accusations, Arenas also rebuffed what seems to be Davis’ last-ditch attempt to retrieve himself from the bad publicity he got.
Arenas claims the only money he got, which one could argue he did not deserve, was for his second contract with the Wizards, when he was mostly injured and sidelined.

A few days ago, the former Celtics player Glen Davis sat down for an interview on the ‘Locked In with Ian Bick’ podcast. While discussing the investigation and how he was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution when he was found guilty, he alleged that the NBA had been selective in its pursuit of justice.
“They literally wanted to make me out to be an example. There were a lot of people that got investigated,” Davis said. “Kendrick Perkins, you see him on ESPN. Tony Allen—he was literally the third person on the indictment, with his wife. He’s not walking in jail.
“Darius Miles—he’s not walking in jail. And these guys got money, like thousands of dollars. How’d I end up in jail and these guys are on probation/walking free; their whole life is still intact.”
“I think the NBA let the feds pick who they wanted to choose,” Glen Davis said as he alleged 180 people were investigated or subpoenaed.
“We didn’t hear about all those people. We just heard about the 22 people that got caught, or that got jammed in the situation. A lot of people pleaded out. They didn’t go to jail. They didn’t even get time served.”
“They actually stole money. Thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars. Your favorite podcast, people you see on different podcasts,” Davis added.
“Matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson; all those people were investigated. Gilbert Arenas, Corey Maggette, Cuttino Mobley; thousands of NBA players were investigated. They only sent some of them to jail. Some of them, the fed got, like, Tony Allen. He didn’t go to jail. Whatever he did to get free.”
“I just really think the healthcare company and the feds, they were working together. The woman that works for the healthcare company was also the lawyer for the feds: the prosecutor, right? The one that was trying to get me, you know what I mean? Or the one that was working for the healthcare company and the feds kind of, right?”
“And so now the NBA is like, ‘Oh, s–t, they got these guys, you know, doing this stuff. Like, we got to give them something.’ And they picked and chose who they wanted to give, right? You’re not going to get our ESPN analyst guy. We’re not going to get this guy.”
“Chris Bosh was on that list. It’s like there were a lot of athletes that were, you know, taking money basically. And that’s the truth. You can go look it up. You can go look it up. This is all information that you can go look up,” Glen Davis further added.
Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis was sentenced to 40 months in prison and $80,000 in restitution, while the other players who were allegedly a part of such scams are still walking free.
I don’t know to what extent Glen Davis’s comments are fueled by the frustration of spending 17 months in prison before getting a three-year supervised release in March, 2026. But Gilbert Arenas is categorically denying any involvement in a scheme to defraud the league of money.
It will be interesting to see whether Glen Davis’ comments prompt any investigation into the matter and what other NBA legends he name-dropped on the issue have to say.
