Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp is a two-time Super Bowl champion and a preferred target of his quarterback, Sam Darnold, who has followed the NFL for several years.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, Kupp released a viral video that was instantly and vaguely familiar to longtime NFL fans as he caught five footballs in a short window of time, including the final one between two he held in his hands.
On Sunday, he laid the speculation to rest, revealing that he got the idea from a series called NFL Fantasy Files that included appearances from former Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson and former Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley.
“I believe it was like Andre Johnson and those guys back in NFL Fantasy Files,” Cooley said when asked about the video, according to Eric Williams of NFL on FOX. When asked how many takes the stunt took, Cooley's answer was brief.
“I can't tell you,” he said with a smile as muffled laughter broke out in the press room. The video was seen over 2.5 million times as of Sunday night and showed off the hands that have made Kupp one of the NFL's top wide receivers during his nine years in the league, eight of them with the Los Angeles Rams and one with the Seahawks.
Cooper Kupp said his recent video where he catches five footballs at once was inspired by NFL Fantasy Files back in the day that included HOF Andre Johnson and Chris Cooley, among others.

Kupp had fewer yards and receptions last season than in all but his sophomore season in the NFL, but did everything his team needed to win its second-ever Super Bowl.
With a new-look offense that has given the defense plenty of fits in training camp, Kupp's stats could take another leap in 2026.
Coach Mike Macdonald's Seahawks are expected to contend for another championship, a goal that may ask more of Kupp as he continues to improve his talents heading into his 10th NFL season.
