The Los Angeles Rams already have star wide receiver Puka Nacua dealing with a bad hip. But now one more pivotal Matthew Stafford weapon received an update before facing the San Francisco 49ers: Terrance Ferguson.
So here's where things stand for Ferguson, per Ben Royer of the Orange County Register Sunday.
“Tight end Terrance Ferguson was doing individual drills with QBs and the WR/TE groups during the media-watching period…after multiple practices out with what Sean McVay called ‘soreness,'” Royer posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
Looks like Ferguson will play down in Melbourne, Australia against the primary rival of the Rams. Which means McVay can certainly roll out his 12 and 13 personnel groupings with Ferguson.

McVay is one of the few coaches who prefers to attack defenses with multiple tight ends. Although his TEs line up mostly on the line of scrimmage but can flex out wide. LA drafted the Oregon star with the vision of expanding this style of offense. Ferguson, though, presents the releases and speed to separate from opposing linebackers and safeties who cover him.
Plus McVay can insert Ferguson with rookie from Ohio State Max Klare, who brings similar rugged traits to the Rams' offense. Los Angeles will unveil this look in all likelihood in the Land Down Under.
Elsewhere, fellow Rams star wideout Davante Adams is another resting as much as possible. Adams enters game week with a knee injury, although that ailment isn't expected to sideline him for the 49ers contest. LA aims to have all its stars in front of an Australian audience on Thursday.
