Liverpool failed in its attempt to sign Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window, but a January move could yet be in the works for the winger

Liverpool could still make a move for Ismaila Sarr in January, according to reports, having failed in its attempts to sign the Crystal Palace winger during the summer transfer window.
Sarr was one of a number of wingers being eyed up by Liverpool as the club tried to bolster its attacking options, and aimed for a direct replacement to Mohamed Salah on the right wing.
The Reds saw a $68 million (£50M) offer rejected by Palace just a week before the window closed, while some reports have suggested a second bid was made but also turned down before the deadline.
Sarr had looked to have been one of the options considered as Cody Gakpo appeared to be nearing an exit, only for Manchester City’s $109 million offer to be turned down, leaving both players at their respective clubs.
According to Football Insider though, Liverpool could “possibly” still look to sign Sarr in January. It’s claimed that the Senegal international had pushed for a late move to Anfield during the summer window, and that the Reds will consider going for him again in the New Year.
The claim comes after Sarr’s agent, Diomansy Kamara, hit out at the treatment of his client, having been denied his move.

"The cases of Ismaila Sarr and Lamine Camara must all interrogate us," Kamara said, also referencing the Monaco midfielder who has been linked with Liverpool as well.
"We have to get out of this logic where the African player can sometimes give the feeling that he is just a commodity: you buy it, you set its price, you negotiate its future and, too often, your will seems to go to the background.
"Our African players deserve respect. The respect of their work. The respect of their career. Respecting their ambitions. The respect of their voices.
"A transfer shouldn't just be a matter of two clubs and numbers. Behind every contract, there's a man, a career, dreams and life choices.”

Sarr is yet to feature for Palace this season, having missed defeats to Everton and Manchester City before being absent again for the Eagles’ first win of the season at Fulham on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of that game, Palace boss Pierre Sage said: "He has to digest for sure because it's a dream for a lot of players to play with this kind of club (Liverpool).
"He had a good opportunity, but in the end it didn't work. If he wants to continue, you have to have a good season with us as he did last year. We know he needs time. Like every bad situation, time does the job and we need time for that."
