Liam Rosenior left Chelsea in disarray. His few months at Chelsea saw him become a laughing stock and a constant meme on social media, as the Blues slumped out of European contention.
Chelsea made a good start under the former Strasbourg manager, but draws against Leeds and Burnley saw Rosenior’s initial run of six wins in seven fall by the wayside. By April, Rosenior had been sacked.

Whether it was ‘respecting the ball’ and conducting a huddle around a referee, his decision to ban Enzo Fernandez, or his comments in the media that grew increasingly under the spotlight, it didn’t work.
Ultimately, it saw BlueCo realise something. To manage Chelsea, the manager must have an aura able to cope with the pressure of such a historic club and an expectant fanbase. Xabi Alonso is that man.

Rosenior has taken over at Paris FC as he returns to Ligue 1
Promoted to Ligue 1 in 2025, Paris FC are quickly establishing themselves in France’s top tier. Backed by RedBull, as are Chelsea’s Wednesday opponents Leeds United, Paris hired Rosenior back in the summer.
It saw Rosenior return to Ligue 1, where he really made a name for himself at Strasbourg, the other club in BlueCo’s portfolio. He’s made an excellent start to life with his new club, as he rebuilds his reputation.

Paris FC secure historic win over Marseille with late penalty
Going into the weekend, Rosenior had watched his side draw 0-0 with Troyes away from home, before beating Nice 3-0. However, on Sunday, they faced their toughest challenge yet – a trip to Marseille.
The latter find themselves in disarray somewhat after a difficult summer. Rosenior’s men took advantage, winning 3-2. Marseille pegged Paris FC back to draw level at 2-2, only for Paris to win it 3-2 late on.
Paris sit in 2nd place under Rosenior at this early stage
The win sees Paris sit second in Ligue 1 at this early stage. It is early, proven by PSG’s 15th position with Luis Enrique’s men picking up just two points from their three games. Seven points from three for Paris.

The only side that sit above Rosenior’s Paris is a team managed by another former Chelsea man, in Filipe Luis. His Monaco side, who boast Lamine Camara in midfield, have won all three of their league games.
But Rosenior has made a stunning start after returning to France and is certainly building on his excellent reputation in France. Continue in this way, and English clubs will start to become interested once again.
