Liverpool recorded their first Premier League win under Andoni Iraola as they beat Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road.
Alexander Isak emerged as the star of the show with a quickfire first-half brace, both assisted brilliantly by Cody Gakpo.
However, the game also marked Bradley Barcola’s Liverpool debut and Ronald Araujo’s first start for the club since his surprise loan move from Barcelona.
The Uruguayan was stationed as a right-back and flourished in that role as he defended resolutely and kept things tight.
And Troy Deeney believes Araujo did his reputation no harm with his performance at Portman Road.
Liverpool loanee Ronald Araujo impresses
“I’ve given him a bit of stick for his games at Barcelona and his ability to not defend properly, said Deeney via the BBC.
“He’s normally the one who’s really aggressive. But I have to give it to him, he’s been really good for Liverpool and played at right-back in that situation.”

With Conor Bradley still injured and Jeremie Frimpong not living up to his billing, Araujo could get an extended run in the team as a right-back.
He didn’t offer too much going forward, but defensively, the Barcelona loanee showed his experience as he capped off a fine performance with a clean sheet.
More to come, Ronald!
