A claim regarding summer interest in Leeds United’s Tarik Muharemović has been made
Arsenal considered moving for Tarik Muharemović before his £34m switch to Leeds United, according to a report.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2025/26 season in Serie A, putting himself on the radar of various high-profile clubs.
Leeds made him a priority target after losing Pascal Struijk to Brighton & Hove Albion and paid a hefty fee to Sassuolo for his services in July.
Muharemović has since appeared in all four of Leeds’ competitive fixtures, illustrating why the Whites went to such great lengths to secure his signature.

Tarik Muharemović claim emerges
According to the BBC, however, Leeds could have faced summer competition from the reigning Premier League champions Arsenal.
He is one of 21 players believed to have been eyed by the Gunners, featuring alongside the likes of Real Madrid’s Vinicus Jr and Chelsea’s Joao Pedro.

Muharemović appears to be settling into life at Elland Road nicely and supporters will be hoping to see the highly-rated Bosnian stick around for the long-term.
In July, he said: “It feels amazing since I arrived, really. The love I get from the guys, from the staff, from the coaches, it is really special. How they welcome you, first of all, and then how we train.
