A former Celtic striker has left Liverpool to join Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, according to a new report.
Mark Burchill, who was Liverpool's chief scout, has followed former sporting director Richard Hughes to the Saudi Pro League club, per The Athletic.
Burchill was appointed by the Merseyside club in March 2024 after previously working with Hughes at Bournemouth. He was part of the recruitment team overhaul led by Hughes, who left Liverpool on Saturday to join Al Hilal.
Hughes' departure came after he managed the club's recent summer transfer window, which concluded his two-and-a-half-year stint at Anfield. He said: "It has been a source of great pride to have been given the opportunity to serve this incredible and unique institution.

Burchill's exit is another significant shift in Liverpool's recruitment structure. Craig McKee, head of scouting operations, has also departed for Al Hilal.
Hughes was a key figure in Liverpool's appointment of Jurgen Klopp's successor, Arne Slot, who led the club to the 2024-25 Premier League title.
During his time at Anfield, Liverpool spent approximately £700million on new signings, including Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez.
