Arsenal have made “significant progress” in talks with captain Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber over extending their stay at the Emirates, according to reports.
The trio all have contracts that expire at the end of next season, and TEAMtalk claim that the Gunners are in advanced negotiations to keep them beyond 2028.
There have been question marks over Odegaard’s future, in particular. At one stage, it was reported that the Premier League champions would have considered offers for their talisman.
However, the Norwegian has shown promising signs that he is returning to the sort of form that won him plenty of plaudits a few years ago. It now looks like the London club are hoping to keep hold of him for the long term.
Keeping Rice and Timber is also a top priority
It seems as if Arsenal are keen to reward specific players who have played an integral role in their success. Since his £105m move from West Ham three years ago, Rice has been consistently one of the club’s top performers.
Timber has had his issues with injuries, but the Dutchman has been extremely consistent for the Gunners when he is on the pitch. He has cemented himself as first-choice right-back ahead of Ben White.

Arteta’s future at Arsenal
In addition to contract negotiations with players, it is believed that talks with Mikel Arteta over extending his stay at the Emirates are at the final stages.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but TEAMtalk reports there is hope that the manager will put pen to paper on a new contract by the end of this month.
Considering the success that Arteta has brought to the club since his appointment, the news will be welcomed by every supporter.
