Hall of Famer Bob Cameron, a three-time Grey Cup champion and the CFL’s all-time leader in punting yards, once told Argonauts kicker Lirim Hajrullahu something that has stuck with him: play long enough in this league and the game-winning moments will pile up.
The 36-year-old Hajrullahu will return to the lineup for Monday’s Labour Day clash against the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton after missing five games with a hamstring injury. His 11-yard chip-shot field goal sealed Toronto’s 35-33 win in last year’s holiday showdown. But the last time he played on July 18, also against the Tiger-Cats, he missed a 31-yard field goal on the final play (also a convert attempt earlier) and Toronto lost 24-23.
