The England international’s 146 completed passes is the most by an English player in a Premier League game since Opta began tracking the data since 2003/04.
He edged past Jordan Henderson’s 144 against West Brom in 2020 and 140 against Bournemouth in 2019, as well as Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick’s 135 each against Spurs and Crystal Palace respectively.
It demonstrates just how pivotal Anderson was in our battling victory, which came thanks to Erling Haaland’s header midway through the first half.
He also had significantly more touches than anyone else on the pitch, with 178 in total.
