**What exactly are we supposed to make of Everton? If you’ve been listening to talkSPORT over the last few days, good luck working it out.**
The [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) transfer window has become something of a favourite subject at the station, and Simon Jordan is the latest to have his say.
His message to David Moyes was fairly blunt. “The Friedkins bought Everton because they want to make money,” said the former Crystal Palace owner, before arguing that Moyes has to manage what he has “or don’t work there”.
Fair enough. Although this isn’t quite the message we’ve been hearing elsewhere on talkSPORT.
Only a few days ago, chief football correspondent Alex Crook argued that Moyes had been badly let down by Everton. He described the Toffees as relegation contenders and went as far as saying that, if he were Moyes, he would walk away.
Now Jordan’s telling him to get on with the job. Of course, talkSPORT employs different people with different opinions. That’s rather the point of the station.
But the wider perception of Everton since deadline day has been interesting to watch. The window was a disaster, Moyes has been let down, Everton could be in a relegation battle, and the manager might be better off walking away.
Then Everton take five points from their opening three league games, remain unbeaten and Jordan’s message is basically: you knew what you were getting into.
Moyes himself has been rather more level about it.
After Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United, he acknowledged that the squad was smaller than he wanted but said there could be no excuses. His job is to manage the players he has.
So perhaps talkSPORT will eventually decide whether Moyes is a man being badly failed by Everton or one who should simply get on with it.
