**Well, this is quite the sight. Farhad Moshiri, back watching Everton and apparently celebrating a 96th-minute equaliser like the rest of us.**
The former [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) majority shareholder was reportedly at the Hill Dickinson for Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United.
Everton supporter Dave Johno spotted Moshiri in the stands and said the 70-year-old was hardly keeping a low profile when Ainsley Maitland-Niles smashed in the late equaliser.
“When we equalised he jumped out of his seat and celebrated with the rest of us,” he wrote on X. There’s a fair bit of irony in that.
By the end of his time at Everton, Moshiri was an extremely unpopular figure.
Years of huge spending, managerial changes, financial problems and relegation battles had left his relationship with supporters in tatters. The Friedkin Group’s takeover in December 2024 was greeted with relief by plenty of Evertonians.
You might therefore have expected Moshiri to keep his distance once he’d finally sold up. Apparently not. If the supporter account is accurate, he was back at Everton on Sunday and comfortable enough to leap out of his seat when Maitland-Niles made it 2-2.
There’s something strangely Everton about the whole thing. Dave Johno finished his post with the famous line: “Once Everton has touched you, nothing will be the same.”
Moshiri’s eight years at Everton didn’t end happily. But perhaps he caught the bug after all.
