Isaiah Thomas is not ready to walk away from basketball just yet.
The veteran point guard recently made it clear that he wants to continue playing professionally, even if his next opportunity comes outside the NBA.
Thomas revealed that he is interested in spending a season playing overseas, potentially giving him a chance to experience a completely different basketball environment.
“I want to hoop overseas for a year!!!” Thomas said on his X account.
"I want that experience! And to cook them boys over that water," he joked.
Does Thomas still have fuel in the tank?
Thomas' career has taken plenty of unexpected turns since he became one of the NBA's most dangerous scoring guards. Despite standing just 175 cm tall, he established himself as an elite offensive weapon, particularly during his memorable run with the Boston Celtics.
His 2016-17 campaign remains the defining season of his career. Thomas averaged 28.9 points per game and finished fifth in MVP voting while leading Boston to the Eastern Conference's top seed.
Injuries, most notably the hip problem that affected him during that period, dramatically changed the trajectory of his career. Since then, he has bounced between NBA opportunities and stints outside the league while continuing to pursue another chance to play at the highest level.
