Chelsea have offloaded a handful of players on loan with permanent options. Alejandro Garnacho is the main player who springs to mind, with the Argentine on loan at Aston Villa.
With Garnacho, a permanent £43m move is expected. The winger is on loan with a conditional obligation, but that clause is said to be easily met. Garnacho has made a difficult start to life, but should still be sold.
There are other players who have left the club on loan, with potential permanent clauses. One is Robert Sanchez, who has been shipped off to Como, while Spurs have a £75m option for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Benoit Badiashile is another example, and the French defender made his debut for Napoli on Saturday as Inter Milan came from behind to beat Napoli 3-2. Allegri’s side had gone 2-0 up, but Inter roared back.
Having green-lighted these clauses, Chelsea would prefer to rake in the cash rather than have to welcome back the players in question. Chelsea would much rather receive a £23m fee, than have Badiashile back.

Badiashile was thrown in at the deep end on Saturday evening, with Inter having halved the deficit through Lautaro Martinez. Napoli simply had to hold on for 10 minutes when Badiashile came on.

Two minutes after his introduction, Badiashile was beaten in the air, and Marcus Thuram headed home an equaliser. Then, in injury time, Lautaro Martinez squeezed in a late winner, with Badiashile on the deck.
TuttoMercatoWeb gave him a 5/10 rating: “A tricky introduction, to put it mildly: Thuram, he gets lost. He also performed poorly at 3-2.” Eurosport, meanwhile, gave him a rating of just 5/10 and didn’t hold back.
They said: “A terrible substitute appearance. Beaten to the ball by Thuram for the 2–2 equalizer, careless on the 3–2 goal. Perhaps he wasn’t ready.” If Chelsea had hope for a permanent fee, it’s now dwindling.
Badiashile’s debut leaves game time and Chelsea fee in doubt
There won’t be many opportunities for Badiashile if he performs like that again. Max Allegri is renowned for his defensive stability in Serie A; but the Graham Potter signing’s performance on Saturday was dismal.

Already, Badiashile will be on his last warning, and the Italian gaffer will certainly hesitate to use him again. Without a doubt, the French player’s game time will have been reduced due to a lack of trust.
Without game time, Badiashile will struggle to show Napoli why they should pay the £23m permanent fee. That means, after a 10-minute cameo, Chelsea’s chances of receiving a cheque are already slim.
