Our Blazer’s Edge Best Things Ever Tournament has come to the very last matchups of the first round! After a day to tally votes, we will post a bracket and narrow down all of our first-round winners to an Elite Eight via the second round. Before we get there, though, one more day of voting in two more contests.
For those who have slept through the first round, each day you’ll get two posts, each with two items for you to choose from. Simply select whichever you think is better, just like you were at the optometrist hearing, “A…or B?” The winners will advance in the tournament until there’s only one Best Thing Ever for 2026! It’s our way of passing the time during the dog days of NBA summer.
In this last matchup of the first round, you get to choose between **Books** and **Kittens**.
Books are amazing ways to spend the time, albeit a dying one. Once upon a time they were the only means of reading. In the modern age, videos, podcasts, and social media have overtaken them. But there’s still something about holding a good book in your hand, smelling the binding glue, and feeling the pages.
But if you want something to hold on a lazy weekend afternoon, it’s hard to beat a snuggly kitten! They’re soft. They tend to purr. And they’re as cute as anything!
