The NFL has learned that one of their long time voices has tragically passed away. The news of the passing was released on Monday evening and has sent shockwaves not only through the NFL, but the college ranks as well.

NFL Announcer Who Spent Decades Calling Games Tragically Passes Away After Fight With Cancer
At the age of 65, a longtime radio host and NFL/college football analyst has passed away.
In the wake of a battle with cancer, beloved sports radio host and analyst Mike Detillier has passed away. Just two weeks ago, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Among other teams and franchises, Detillier worked as a broadcaster for the New Orleans Saints. After attending Central Lafourche High School and Louisiana Tech, he played football at Sacramento State.
There is a deep sadness within the Saints organization:
The New Orleans Saints organization is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of WWL Radio host Mike Detillier. A proud son of Louisiana, Mike was widely respected as a gifted football analyst, a trusted guide through the NFL Draft, and an exceptional family man.
Beyond his incredible contributions to the game, he was above all a true gentleman and a dedicated family man. Saints gamedays at the Caesars Superdome, training camp practices, and press conferences simply will not be the same without his presence.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his immediate family and to the community of devoted listeners who considered him a friend over the airwaves.

this is very upsetting. Detillier was a legend and a kind man. I used to buy his draft previews every year back when thats all you had. RIP
