Patriots Rule Out 28-Game Star For Season Opener Vs Seahawks (Breaking News) 1
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are kicking off the 2026 NFL season on Wednesday night in Seattle. The first game of the season will be rematch of last year’s Super Bowl with both teams hoping to make a run back to the big game this season. However, it would appear that New England is already being bit by the injury bug.

New England Patriots Already Rule Out First Player Against The Seahawks
Before leaving Foxborough, the New England Patriots practiced without two players. Neither TreVeyon Henderson nor Ben Brown took part in the Labor Day weekend preparations. Brown did not even travel with the team, either, and has been ruled out of Lumen Field’s season opener. As the team prepare for Wednesday’s 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff versus the Seattle Seahawks, here is the second injury report:

Henderson has been sidelined for two weeks due to an ankle injury suffered on Aug. 24. Despite not being ruled out, that held true on Monday.
“We’ll see how he feels today. We’ll see if he can do anything,” Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said of the second-year running back prior to practice. “He’s been working extremely hard to come back, and we’ll see where that goes here today. We do have a few more days before, but we’ll see what he’s able to do today.”

Since the preseason opener, New England‘s offense has been without Brown. After the 53-man roster deadline, the versatile lineman was released and re-signed, but won’t be in attendance on Wednesday. New addition Greg Van Roten, who has now started 105 NFL games, slots into the team’s top backup interior line position.
Prior to flying to the Pacific Northwest, the Patriots logged consecutive practices without any players being limited by partial participation. In the meantime, the Seahawks had three straight practices in the same capacity. Despite a few injuries, it would appear both teams are going into week one near full strength.
