FORMER STEELERS WR JOINS COMMANDERS
Wide receiver Van Jefferson was with the Steelers in 2024, and he caught 24 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns. It was a disappointing year for Jefferson, who the Steelers were hoping would make more of an impact in his reunion with Arthur Smith. He left them after that year, spending the 2025 season with the Tennessee Titans, where he caught 29 passes for 350 yards and one touchdown.
Jefferson joined the Washington Commanders this offseason. While they waived him as part of their effort to cut their roster down to 53 players, they brought him back recently. ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reported on Twitter that the Commanders have signed Jefferson to their practice squad. It’s a smaller role than Jefferson is used to, but we’ll see if they elevate him at any point this year.

SEE BIG SUPER BOWL RINGS
The Steelers are one of the NFL’s most accomplished franchises. They’re tied for the most Super Bowl wins by a team with six. Also, they haven’t had a losing record since 2003. Still, the Steelers’ standard is championships. Those six rings carry a lot of weight in Pittsburgh.
The team added some real weight to the rings this year by creating and displaying large copies at the NFL draft. The Steelers aren’t throwing them away even though the draft is long gone, either. They’re taking the big versions of their Super Bowl rings on tour throughout Pittsburgh in the coming days. Seeing them could be cool for fans in the area.

BEDNAR STILL ROOTS FOR STEELERS
Pittsburgh-native David Bednar got to live out a dream when he pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was excellent for much of his time there, but unfortunately, the Pirates traded him to the New York Yankees in 2025.
While Bednar is with the Yankees, he’s still rooting for the Steelers. Chris Rose Sports shared a video on Twitter interviewing Bednar, and he was asked about his fandom. He’s still a die-hard Steelers fan and expects the team to win a Super Bowl this year.
