After two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, superstar running back Derrick Henry has not accomplished his goal of winning a Super Bowl. In fact, the Ravens haven’t even gotten that close.
In the past two seasons, the Ravens have had just one playoff berth and a lone postseason win – a far cry from what Henry expected when he signed with the team. This year, he wants to make sure that changes.
Henry Wants a Super Bowl
------------------------
“It would be crazy for me to say I played with Lamar Jackson, and we didn’t win no championships,” Henry said on “The Lounge” podcast, via Ryan Mink [of the team website](https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/derrick-henry-super-bowl-aim-lamar-jackson-records-emmitt-smith). “I cannot have that. I do not want that to be a thing. We’ve got to do it.”
While the team missed the postseason entirely last season, Henry says that he “believes that we have all the pieces to get it done.”
And Henry is very clear about what the goals are as he heads into this season.
“I want to win a Super Bowl. That’s a big motivation,” Henry said. “I just want to be able to feel that feeling. I’m tired of watching. Every year, I’m tired of being at home on the couch watching. I want to be a part of it. That’s what’s motivating me right now. I’m going to keep going until we get to that point. We have the 2026 season to get that accomplished.”
‘I don’t believe a defense is ready’
------------------------------------
Jackson certainly seems to think that the team has all the tools to make a Super Bowl run.
During an interview with [Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio](https://x.com/AdamSchein/status/2095335313342161072?s=20) this week, Jackson had some strong words for what he believes is coming this season.
“I just can’t wait to showcase it,” Jackson said. “I don’t believe a defense is prepared for what’s in store for them.”
Given that Jackson did not play at all for the Ravens throughout the preseason, we still have not yet seen what the offense is truly going to look like with the perennial MVP candidate under center. But it’s clear that he’s excited about it.
“It’s a lot of moving parts, it’s guys flying around,” Jackson said. “Everything you need in an offense, play action, dropbacks, run game, everything you need in an offensive system.”
We’ll have to see what the team has in store when they open the season against the Indianapolis Colts next week.
