New York Jets running back Breece Hall found another sport to follow Monday evening while taking in the US Open in Queens, just days before his fifth NFL season begins. Hall attended the tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and later made his growing interest in tennis official.
The Jets standout took to X, formerly Twitter, after attending the US Open on Monday evening. His brief admission quickly drew roughly 78,000 views and 2,000 likes as Hall publicly declared his newfound interest in tennis.
“I’m officially a fan of Tennis 🫡”
Hall enters the 2026 season coming off his first 1,000-yard rushing campaign. He finished 2025 with 1,065 rushing yards and remains one of the most prominent offensive players on the Jets roster under head coach Aaron Glenn.
New York also committed to Hall long-term during the offseason. The 25-year-old signed a three-year, $45.75 million extension in May, making him the NFL’s third-highest-paid running back at the time. The Jets originally selected the former Iowa State standout with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
His new deal and expected Week 1 availability give the Jets continuity in the backfield as Hall prepares to begin another season as one of the offense’s established playmakers again.
Hall has been managing a groin injury, but he is expected to be available when the Jets open the regular season Sunday on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
His US Open appearance came during a busy Labor Day at Flushing Meadows, where several other New York athletes also attended the tournament. Hall’s post followed his visit to the grounds and framed the night simply: he left as a tennis fan.
The Jets now move closer to their Week 1 opener, with Hall expected to be available as New York begins the 2026 season vs. the Tennessee Titans.
