Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw after conceding a last-minute equaliser against Everton. But Michael Carrick's side must quickly shift their attention to a Champions League tie with Sabah FK.

Having been beaten by Hull City 2-0 to begin their Premier League season, United's fortunes were turned around with a 5-2 victory against Ipswich Town. Carrick's men then visited Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, hopeful of getting a result. A sublime Bryan Mbeumo finish put them 1-0 up early in the second half.

The Toffees hit back eight minutes from time through Tyrique George, though Benjamin Sesko thought he'd won United the game in the 87th minute. But in the sixth minute of added time, the ball fell to Ainsley Maitland-Niles on the edge of the United box and his long-range strike beat Senne Lammens.

Marcus Rashford's Barcelona message

Rashford, who started his second consecutive league fixture on Sunday, took to Instagram after Everton held United with a statement to his 22.3 million followers.

"So unlucky not to come away with all the points today! The results will come. Big week coming up starting with Thursday's game," he wrote.

And significantly, in the comments were two of his team-mates from his loan stint with Barcelona: Roony Bardghji and Fermin Lopez. Bardghji commented: "Man like Rashy" whilst Fermin simply posted a clapping hands and love-heart eyes emoji.

The two evidently have not forgotten about the 28-year-old, who was linked with a permanent move back to the Camp Nou after his spell, and would likely have wanted him to return based on this affection. But the forward has ultimately stayed put to try and rebuild his United career under Carrick.

Gary Neville lambasts error

Dorgu, who replaced Rashford against Everton, has been criticised by ex-United defender Neville, who believes his errant pressing was a primary reason for the late goal being conceded.

On his The Gary Neville Podcast, the Sky Sports pundit broke down the final stages of the game that led to Maitland-Niles scoring the equaliser. He said: "That last goal is a really bad one. Dorgu, for some reason, chases out and presses – isolated press. Andrey Santos then doesn't go cover behind him and stays back.

"It just gets played past Dorgu. It's a massive mistake that. It's a massive mistake from Dorgu but he might have been told to go press by Santos. But it just strikes me as a lack of communication."
