The summer window in Europe is shut, but the work doesn’t stop elsewhere. Saudi Pro League clubs have until October 12, and Premier League players could be of interest, with Richarlison looking for a new club, while the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham start working on target for January.
The Gunners endured a frustrating summer due to missing out on many of their top targets, but are being tipped to go back in for at least two in January: Julian Alvarez and Eli Junior Kroupi. Chelsea did land one of those targets, in Morgan Rogers, but failed to sign a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, after Monaco pulled the plug an agreement to sell Lamine Camara. Chelsea could now turn to Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios, who is valued at around €100 million.
Manchester United were also left wanting after the transfer window due to missing out on Lewis Hall, and a fresh approach is January would not be a surprise. They have poached 16-year-old star Isaac Konde from Liverpool. Tottenham will be happy with their business, but, with Richarlison being pushed out, Spurs could also reignite their interest in Junior Kroupi when the transfer window reopens in less than four months. Manchester United poach Liverpool wonderkid
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign teenage midfielder Isaac Konde.
According to the Daily Mirror, the 16-year-old is set to leave Anfield and join United in a major coup for the club’s academy.
Konde has impressed at youth level and is regarded as a promising prospect for the future.
United have been working to strengthen their youth setup and have now beaten competition to secure the youngster’s signature.

Manchester United remain keen to sign Leicester City youngster Louis Page after a Deadline Day deal collapsed.
Man Utd held talks with Leicester throughout the summer and stepped up their efforts on deadline day, but the clubs were unable to reach an agreement before the window closed.
Despite the setback, ESPN report that United remain keen on the 18-year-old England youth international and believe they are well placed to secure his signature, although Arsenal are also monitoring the midfielder.
United are reportedly relaxed about the situation, with the club having planned to loan Page back to Leicester for the season had a summer deal been completed.
Page made 18 Championship appearances last season, and a future move is expected to cost United more than £10 million.
Bruno Guimaraes explains Mikel Arteta obsession
Bruno Guimaraes has revealed Mikel Arteta is “very obsessed” with ensuring Arsenal become one of the Premier League’s most exciting sides.
The Gunners have made a fine start to their Premier League title defence, winning all three of their matches so far and securing a statement 2-1 defeat of Chelsea last time out.
The summer signing Guimaraes, who moved from Newcastle in a deal worth £75m, has not played much of a role thus far in the campaign, playing just 20 minutes in the league as he deals with a niggling injury. Those minutes came off the bench at Villa Park last week.
In spite of that, he only has good things to say about his first weeks representing Arsenal.
“It's great to be able to work with such a strong team,” he told The Mirror. “There's something impressive about this team.”

Martial 'rejects two offers'
Anthony Martial has rejected two contract offers from clubs in Ligue 1.
The striker, presently a free agent, is reported by Foot Mercato to be waiting for the right project to commit himself to.
The 30-year-old has also been linked with Everton.
Vicario issues cryptic Tottenham statement
Guglielmo Vicario has revealed that there were ‘several reasons’ behind his decision to leave Tottenham and return to Serie A.
The Italian’s departure from north London was mooted for some time as Roberto De Zerbi planned a thorough overhaul of his squad. He joined Juventus on loan with an option to buy in late August, with Antonin Kinsky promoted to No1.
He remains under contract with Tottenham until 2028, though, and may return at the end of this campaign.
Speaking to Sky Italy this week, though, he suggested he had been pushed to leave the club by some kind of behind-closed-doors event.
Keeping his cards close to his chest, he explained: “There have been some dynamics that have not aligned, probably for several reasons that make no sense to mention now.”
Bayern to consider Olise bids
Bayern Munich may soften their stance on selling Michael Olise next summer, after spending much of this summer insisting the Frenchman was untouchable.
Olise has emerged as one of Europe’s most productive forwards since leaving Crystal Palace to join the perennial Bundesliga champions.
Real Madrid were known to hold a serious interest in taking him on earlier this summer, but Bayern representatives made repeated media appearances insisting he was not for sale. Paris Saint-Germain were also said to be keen on signing him.
But a new interview given by Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen suggests Olise could leave the club following the 2026/27 campaign.
Speaking to German TV channel Sport1, Dreesen refused to say for certain whether he would still ply his trade at the Allianz Arena next season: “In this business, making promises is tricky.”

Reports: Chelsea wanted Berge
Chelsea looked into signing Fulham’s Sander Berge before selling Enzo Fernandez on Deadline Day.
So claim BBC Sport, who add the Blues had earmarked the Norwegian as a potential replacement for their Man City-bound Argentine.
They ultimately moved instead for Lamine Camara, but that deal fell through when Monaco refused to sign off on the sale at the last minute.
Premier League manager sack race latest
On the topic of managers being sacked, there has been movement in the Premier League markets.
Following the weekend’s results in the Premier League, Alvaro Arbeloa and Roberto De Zerbi have had their odds cut with William Hill to be the first Premier League manager to leave their post.
Fulham boss Arbeloa now heads the betting to go first at 9/4. The Spaniard was 3/1 prior to their game against Crystal Palace, but with the loss making it a third defeat in three, he’s now a big favourite in the market.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has also been cut to 4/1 from 9/2 after Spurs failed to score in a third game in a row.

Fiorentina sack Fabio Grosso as replacement arrives
Fiorentina overnight sacked manager Fabio Grosso.
The former defender was appointed on a two-year deal in June, but has been dismissed after starting the new Serie A season with three straight defeats.
Fiorentina narrowly avoided relegation last season, with an end-of-term run of positives results securing their top-flight status.
But a disaster start to the new season has seen them act quickly to sack Gross, with Paolo Vanoli the favourite to take over.
Liverpool want Chelsea target to replace Alexis Mac Allister
Liverpool are preparing for the possibility of losing Alexis Mac Allister next summer, with the midfielder attracting interest from Manchester City.
According to reports, Liverpool have identified Chelsea target Adam Wharton as a potential replacement for the Argentina international. The Reds are understood to be monitoring the Crystal Palace midfielder ahead of next summer.
Mac Allister remains an important part of Liverpool’s squad, but the club could consider his departure if a suitable offer arrives. Wharton, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most highly rated young midfielders and is also being tracked by Chelsea.
Liverpool could therefore face competition for the 22-year-old if they decide to make their interest concrete next summer.
