Manchester City enter into a huge week despite being in the very early stages of their 2026/27 season, hoping to maintain their 100 per cent winning start to the brand new campaign under Maresca.
Having successfully dismissed of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Coventry City in their opening three Premier League matches, attentions now briefly turn to the UEFA Champions League and an away clash at FC Porto on Tuesday night.

Manchester City travel to the Estádio do Dragão for the first time since the 2021 UEFA Champions League final defeat to Chelsea, as they debut away from home in the 2026/27 edition of the competition against FC Porto.
The meeting with Francesco Farioli's side - who also boast a 100 per cent winning start to the new season across more games than City - precedes the first Manchester derby with Enzo Maresca as manager of the Etihad Stadium club.
However, the clash at Old Trafford appears to have arrived at a time when City are already battling injury and fitness concerns, with Jeremy Doku recovering from a three week-long calf injury and Nico O'Reilly withdrawing from the starting line-up against Coventry on Saturday owing to a back issue.
O'Reilly and Doku update for Man United clash
Now, speaking to reporters from the Estádio do Dragão on Monday night, Enzo Maresca was quizzed on the fitness of Nico O'Reilly and Jeremy Doku, after both players were absent from the side's 22-man travelling squad list in Porto.
On the subject of the England international, Maresca confirmed that O'Reilly will "probably" be available for Manchester City against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
However, doubts remain over Jeremy Doku's availability, despite the Belgian winger being "back", according to Maresca.
The Italian coach said, "I don't know if he can be available for the weekend [against Manchester United], but slowly, slowly he is back."
Do Man City have any other concerns for Man United?
Iliman Ndiaye was a minor concern following the conclusion of Saturday's 1-0 win over Coventry, but Manchester City's newest attacking signing confirmed after the contest that he was replaced late on in the game owing to "cramp".
The Senegalese forward - signed on transfer deadline day for a £65 million package from Everton - travelled with the rest of the City side to Porto and is expected to feature on Tuesday night in his Champions League debut for the club.
Whilst there are no other fitness concerns, Enzo Maresca will be hoping his Manchester City players emerge unscathed from what is expected to be a fierce test of his early credentials as a competitive force across competitions.
City are due to fly back from Porto to Manchester soon after their meeting with Francesco Farioli's side, in order to maximise their recovery period between the conclusion of the contest and preparations for Sunday's mammoth tie at Old Trafford.
