Fabian Hurzeler has no doubts on Yankuba Minteh's future commitment as Brighton fended off two transfer window bids from Liverpool for the flying winger.
Minteh - currently sidelined with a leg injury - was the subject of two offers from Liverpool last month.
The first was said to be £50m and the second was reportedly for around £60m. Minteh, 21, was keen to go to Anfield but Albion held firm in their valuation and a move failed to materialise.
Minteh is fully committed
"Yes, definitely. he wears the Brighton colours," said Hurzeler when asked about Minteh’s commitment prior to the Leeds match.
"He wears the Brighton badge. He has been a part of the squad for two years now and achieved great things together with the boys.
So it's also about him now to commit because in the end, we always say we want to be successful as a club, but then you can shine as individuals.
“That’s what we proved in the past. If we achieve things together, then the attention will come to the individual players, and this will be the case also this season.
“If the whole team is successful and the individual shine, then Yankuba will get a lot of attention again, and then he can maybe fulfill his dream in the next transfer window."
Minteh injury rehab
Minteh injured his right leg during Albion's pre-season win against Roma at the Amex Stadium and is yet to feature for the Seagulls this term.
He will be out until at the least the international break but Hurzeler refused to place a timeline on his return.
The German head coach added: "But now it's of course also up to us to give him the chance to do good rehab, to be again part of this group.
"But also up to him to perform at the highest level because we know that Yankuba can be one of the best players.
"He can have a big impact on our performance on the pitch. But in the end it's a team sport and in the end everyone needs to be on his highest level so that we can be successful as a team and then the individual will benefit from it."
