Picking the perfect fantasy football team name is almost as important as having a good draft — at least for some people. Every year brings a new wave of player-based puns, and the 2026 fantasy football season is no different.

Yahoo has released its list of the 10 most popular fantasy football team names, featuring some familiar favorites and a few newer options.

The 10 most popular fantasy football team names

Several of these have been around for years, but their staying power shows just how popular certain player puns have become. Hurts So Good, for example, has been a recurring fantasy favorite, while Nacua Matata became a sensation following Puka Nacua’s breakout.
Bijan Robinson dominates the list

The biggest winner might actually be Bijan Robinson.
The Atlanta Falcons running back has two different names in the top 10, with “To Infinity and Bijan” ranking fourth and “Bijan Mustard” coming in seventh.
That’s impressive considering fantasy managers have thousands of players to choose from when creating their team names.
Jahmyr Gibbs also gets a spot with “Baby Back Gibbs,” while Christian McCaffrey’s “Run CMC” remains one of the most recognizable fantasy football names. Current 2026 fantasy-name lists continue to feature all four heavily.

Some names never go away
One interesting part of the list is how many of these names aren’t necessarily new.
Hurts So Good, Run CMC, Nacua Matata, and LaPorta Potty have all been popular fantasy names for multiple seasons. In fact, Yahoo previously highlighted Hurts So Good, Nacua Matata, LaPorta Potty and Baby Back Gibbs among its popular fantasy football names.
That says something about what makes a great fantasy team name: it doesn’t necessarily have to be brand new. Sometimes, the best names are simply the ones that still make your league mates laugh.
