The New Orleans Pelicans have decided to move on from their former lottery pick after three seasons.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Pelicans are trading Jordan Hawkins alongside Micah Peavy, a future second-round pick, and a future second-round pick swap to the Memphis Grizzlies for AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson.

Selected 14th overall by the Pelicans in the 2023 draft, Hawkins will be entering his fourth year in the NBA next season.
The 24-year-old has not shown much improvement during his three seasons with the Pelicans.
He appeared in 51 games last season, averaging 5.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in around 14 minutes per contest.
The team also included second-year guard Micah Peavy in the deal, who averaged 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 61 appearances as a rookie.
The Pelicans will receive third-year guard AJ Johnson and 41-year-old Taj Gibson from the Grizzlies. For Johnson, it will be his fourth NBA team after being traded twice in his first two seasons.
