Andoni Iraola and Alexis Mac Allister were part of the pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
And it’s safe to say it was an interesting one, to say the least.
Mac Allister addressed the media first and admitted he was disappointed with Liverpool for not offering him a new deal, adding that he had the chance to leave this summer but decided not to act on it.
And now, Iraola has had his say on the matter, suggesting that Mac Allister is a really important player for Liverpool.

“We all have responsibilities, contracts with a club,” began the Spaniard when asked about Mac Allister’s situation.
“We haven’t been together a lot of time but he is very important and has played a lot of minutes very highly. We have time to talk about those contract situations.”

Mac Allister has two years left on his current deal and has been a key player for Iraola since his arrival, so maybe his form this season will dictate whether or not he gets a new deal at Anfield.
