Chelsea will look to bounce back from defeat in the Premier League over the weekend as eyes turn to Carabao Cup action. The Blues fell to a 2-1 loss against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
That brought to an end an 100% winning record under new manager Xabi Alonso. But they don’t have too long to dwell on the defeat, with the action coming thick and fast.
Chelsea are back in action on Wednesday night (8pm BST) as they host fellow Premier League side Leeds United in the third round of the Carabao Cup. With no European football more concentration may go into the domestic cup competitions.

Ahead of the game, both Alonso and Leeds manager Daniel Farke have given the latest injury updates on their squad.
Chelsea
Four Chelsea players are set to miss the game at Stamford Bridge, with Alonso confirming that midfielder Moises Caicedo and full-back Marco Palestra will not be available. "Not yet. They're still not ready to go,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
"It's not the moment to take too early a risk. We'll go game by game with them, but it's too early."
When asked if Caicedo could be available for the next Premier League game vs Hull City, he said: "Potentially, yes, but we will have to wait. Thursday or Friday we will know more."
The duo will join Jordan Henderson and Emmanuel Emegha on the sidelines
Henderson is continuing his recovery from a wrist injury suffered while with the England squad at the World Cup, while Emegha is recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during pre-season.
In a boost to Chelsea, Alonso has confirmed that defender Levi Colwill will be available for the game after appearing to suffer an injury against Arsenal.
Leeds United
Three Leeds players are set to miss Wednesday night’s match, with Farke providing the latest on the fitness of his squad. Defender Joe Rodon is alongside forward Mateo Joseph and midfielder Ilia Gruev as longer-term absentees.
Farke has also revealed that there was a slight injury worry over Daniel James, but the Welshman is expected to be fit for the encounter after undergoing scans this week.
"Joe Rodon is obviously a long-term injury and is out, we have a little question over Daniel James," he said in his pre-match press conference, via LeedsLive .
"He reported during the warm-up at Brighton some issues with his back and his hamstring. The scan results were good.
"He has a session yesterday and we have a session today and a light session tomorrow morning and if he comes through those two sessions he will hopefully be available. I am carefully optimistic."
The Leeds boss also hinted that he will make some changes to his team for that match. "The Premier League is always the priority and that is the goal to establish ourselves in this league,” he said.
"But we want to win the Carabao Cup and we want to win this game. We will maybe look to rotate but we want to win this game."
