Newcastle United Star Reaches “Agreement” With Club Following Months Of Transfer Speculation
Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall is expected to extend his contract, according to talkSPORT reporter Ben Jacobs.
Writing on his X account, Jacobs said that sporting director Ross Wilson has managed to agree a new deal with the England international:
“Lewis Hall set to sign a new Newcastle United contract after reaching an agreement with the club.”
“Hall understood to be impressed by new manager Matthias Jaissle, and extension talks have accelerated over the past few weeks. Extending Hall a priority for sporting director Ross Wilson.”
Hall has been heavily linked with Man Utd
There has been constant speculation about the former Chelsea player for several months, with Manchester United having reportedly made him a top target to strengthen their options on the left-hand side of defence.
However, the Magpies made it clear in no uncertain terms that Hall was not for sale at any price. The club lost several key players, including Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, during the summer transfer window, and they were unwilling to sanction the departure of another regular starter.
Jaissle’s arrival at Newcastle has been an influential factor
It had been reported that Hall was open to leaving St James’ Park. He was said to be unhappy with how last season ended. Manager Eddie Howe had dropped him from the starting eleven, and he was subsequently left out of the England squad for the World Cup.
Howe’s departure last month and the appointment of Matthias Jaissle appears to have changed the player’s thinking on his future.
Since Jaissle’s arrival, Hall has started every match, and based on Jacobs’ information, it seems he has already been won over by the German’s approach. As a result, the player is now prepared to commit his long-term future to the club.
