Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Tuesday that star quarterback Patrick Mahomes "most likely" will start Kansas City's Week 1 game against the Denver Broncos.
"As far as our roster goes, there's a very good chance that Patrick will go ahead and start unless something were to come up here in the next couple days," Reid told reporters. "Most likely he'll be the guy that's out there."
Mahomes did not participate in preseason action as worked toward a return from last December's season-ending knee injury, but he had appeared to be on track to play in Sept. 14's opener.
