The Reds are coming on the back of a morale-boosting 2-0 win against Ipswich Town in the Premier League and will aim to start their European adventure on a positive note.
Andoni Iraola and Alexis Mac Allister addressed the media earlier today, after which the Reds took part in an open training session.
And now, it appears as if they will be without Cody Gakpo tomorrow, who sat out of training as a precaution.
Paul Joyce confirmed that the Dutch international was left out as a precaution, adding that Joe Gomez trained with his teammates for the first time in over a month.
He wrote on X: “Cody Gakpo absent from Liverpool training as a precaution. Joe Gomez training.”
Gakpo has been Liverpool’s best player so far this season and provided two brilliant assists for Alexander Isak vs Ipswich.
He will be a big miss if he doesn’t feature tomorrow, but the Reds are better off resting him and using him against Fulham in midweek.
This could mean Bradley Barcola could get a start, with Iraola confirming earlier today that he is ready to play more minutes after his cameo last week.
