Arsenal's preparations for their Champions League opener have been disrupted by air traffic control problems in the UK, although Jurrien Timber has travelled with the squad.
Arsenal's plans for Mikel Arteta's pre-match press conference in Naples were thrown off course after air traffic control issues delayed the squad's trip to Italy.
Arteta had been due to speak to the media at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Tuesday evening ahead of Arsenal's Champions League opener against Napoli.
Those plans have now been scrapped.
The Gunners are now set to arrive in Naples around 9.30pm local time, after their flight was delayed by air traffic control problems that disrupted departures across the UK.
Arsenal did at least avoid spending the delay sitting at the airport, with the squad remaining at the training ground until a clearer picture on when they could depart was available. It means they will arrive far later than planned, with less than 24 hours to prepare before Wednesday night's game.
The disruption also means Arteta misses the usual chance to give a final update on his team ahead of the fixture.
There was some encouragement earlier in the day, with Jurrien Timber taking part in Arsenal's open training whilst joining the travelling squad.
The Dutch defender has been working his way back towards competitive football and trained with the group before Arsenal left for Italy. He was not involved in Sunday's 2-1 win over Chelsea, despite Arteta saying before that game that Timber had been back on the pitch for a number of weeks and was in a good place physically.
Timber's inclusion in the travelling party does not guarantee he will feature against Napoli, but it does hand Arteta another defensive option as a demanding run of fixtures begins.
Arsenal have already had to make changes at the back this season.
Ezri Konsa made his first start against Chelsea after Cristhian Mosquera missed the game with a muscular issue picked up at Aston Villa. William Saliba also remains out.
Konsa partnered Gabriel at the Emirates as Arsenal recovered from conceding inside two minutes to beat Chelsea and maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.
Just three days after their last league outing, European competition is already back on the agenda.
Arsenal held their final training session in England on Tuesday morning, opting not to train at the match venue in Naples. The delay, then, did not disrupt their preparations on the pitch, but arriving so late is far from ideal for Arteta as he looks to start another Champions League campaign on the right note.
Napoli host Arsenal at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday night, with kick-off at 8pm UK time.
With no pre-match media duties left to fulfil in Italy, Arteta's attention will turn to settling his squad after a day of travel that proved much longer than anyone had anticipated.
