Chelsea host Leeds United in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday night, with a place in the last 16 at stake at Stamford Bridge.

Under the Carabao Cup competition rules, matches in rounds one, two, three, four and five go directly to a penalty shootout if the scores are level at the end of normal time.
That means Chelsea and Leeds will have to settle the tie from the penalty spot on Wednesday if neither side can find a winner inside 90 minutes.

There is no replay and no additional 30-minute period before penalties during the third round.
Extra time is only introduced later in the competition, including where required in the semi-finals and final.

Is VAR being used for Chelsea vs Leeds?
VAR will not be in operation at Stamford Bridge either.
Leeds United confirmed when announcing the match officials that video technology is not being used at this stage of the competition.
Jarred Gillett will therefore make the major decisions without assistance from a video referee.
