After the NBA handed out intense punishments to the Los Angeles Clippers for salary cap circumvention with Kawhi Leonard many believed the case had ended and the trade that sent the veteran forward to the Toronto Raptors would be finalized in the next few days.
However the deal hasn't been finalized and, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the trade is on hold because the Clippers are still working through their new front office structure after the NBA suspended Steve Ballmer and Lawrence Frank.
While Kawhi Leonard himself escaped a major punishment without any suspensions instead receiving a $700,000 fine, Clippers' management was punished much more thoroughly.

The NBA's punishment to the Los Angeles Clippers
The NBA formally announced its punishment against the Los Angeles Clippers and several other figures involved on September 2.
The Clippers have been stripped of five first-round picks from 2029 to 2033 by the NBA, while owner Steve Ballmer received a $30 million fine and a one-year suspension.
President of business operations Gillian Zucker was suspended without pay for one year, and President of basketball operations Lawrence Frank was suspended without pay for six months.
While Kawhi left the situation without losing much, his uncle, Dennis Robertson, gained a five-year ban from any league dealings and involvement.
