Manchester United are on the verge of completing the transfer of Isaac Konde from Liverpool. He is set to be the latest young prodigy to move to the Reds.

The Reds recently wrapped up the signing of Manchester City youngster David Eze, who penned an emotional farewell to his childhood team before moving to their fiercest rivals. Michael Carrick's side also persuaded his ex-City team-mate Karim Cassim to swap the Etihad Stadium for Old Trafford. It's the latest sign United are also planning for the future, as well as the present.

After Eze's signing was confirmed, the youngster took to Instagram and posted a lengthy farewell to the Cityzens. He wrote: "After 8 unforgettable years, I have decided to leave @mancity and begin a new chapter.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, challenges, and memories that have shaped both my career and me as a person. Thank you to the coaches and staff I’ve had the privilege of working alongside and for all the support throughout the years. Thank you."

Konde, Eze and Cassim will join up with Darren Fletcher's U18s side. Konde is a midfielder by trade who had been tipped for bright things at Anfield.

Sky's Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle includes at least 215 live Premier League clashes across the 2026/27 season, with more than 1,500 games from the EFL and beyond, plus F1, golf and darts.

This introductory offer saves £384 compared to the standard price, with every package also providing 100 regular channels alongside free Netflix and discovery+ subscriptions.

United are currently waiting on Premier League ratification for the signing before they can officially confirm it, as they had to do with Eze and Cassim. All three players are midfielders by trade who will instantly bolster Fletcher's youth side.

When it comes to academy signings, United's main pool is essentially confined to Premier League and EFL clubs. Their recruitment search is limited to the UK, as a result of Brexit rules forbidding United to scout for youngsters on the continent.

In terms of success, City and Liverpool's academy teams have enjoyed more success, but United's pathway towards the first team means they are still a huge attraction for young players.

Kobbie Mainoo is the perfect example of a player who had been shining in the youth teams before eventually forcing his way into the first team.
