Fantasy Football WR PPR Rankings Week 1: Who to start, best sleepers, top busts image
Week 1 is finally here, and fantasy managers face difficult wide receiver decisions. Matchups, expected target volume, quarterback play and offensive roles all matter when deciding which receivers to start.
In these Week 1 PPR wide receiver rankings, I consider both each player's season-long talent and their specific matchup this week. This approach gives certain players a boost due to advantageous coverage or expected volume, while others drop in ranking because of tough matchups or uncertainty about their offense.
Keep reading for our full breakdown of the wide receiver position for the opening week of the 2026 fantasy season.

Week 1 WR Sleepers
Parker Washington, Jaguars
Washington is one of my top sleeper picks for this week, given its matchup. Jacksonville faces Cleveland first, giving Washington a good chance to get steady targets early in the season.
Chris Godwin Jr., Buccaneers
Godwin faces Cincinnati in Week 1 and could benefit from a favorable matchup. He's ranked 25th, but I wouldn't be surprised if his PPR production pushes him into the top 15.
Week 1 WR Busts
Jaylen Waddle, Broncos
Waddle has tremendous talent, but Denver's Week 1 trip to Kansas City makes this a tougher spot than his preseason ranking suggests. He's still a start in most leagues, but I would temper expectations for a massive opening-week performance.
Stefon Diggs, Commanders
Diggs has the name recognition to tempt fantasy managers into automatically starting him, but Philadelphia presents one of the tougher matchups on the opening-week slate. With Washington traveling to Philadelphia, I'd view Diggs as a WR2/WR3.
