Liverpool have added 14 players to their Champions League squad via their List B privileges, including Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and Lewis Koumas.
The Reds kick off their first European campaign under Andoni Iraola against Atletico Madrid in the first of eight league-phase matches.
The club submitted a 25-man squad for the first stage of the competition, which did not include either Wataru Endo or Federico Chiesa.
Notably, Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley were included to offer hope of their involvement in the league phase, which runs until January.
Iraola’s squad can also be bolstered by adding players to List B throughout the competition, which provides an unlimited number of spots for U21s.
As per UEFA: “A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2005 and has, since his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years.”
14 players added to Liverpool’s squad pre-Atletico Madrid
With new names allowed before midnight on the day before a match, Liverpool have now added 14 players to their squad via List B.
Ngumoha, Nyoni, Koumas and Jayden Danns lead the familiar names added, who will form part of Iraola’s wider first-team squad across all competitions.
The remainder of the names are academy regulars, with goalkeeper Bailey Hall and defenders Wellity Lucky, Lucas Pitt and Clae Ewing among those listed prior to Atletico’s visit.
Midfielders Ben Trueman, Alvin Ayman, Fola Onanuga, Michael Laffey, and Joe Bradshaw are also joined by forward Josh Sonni-Lambie, who was part of the first-team’s pre-season tour in the US.

It is unlikely the majority will feature unless there is an injury crisis, but their place in the squad means they are available to be selected.
Of those added, only Ngumoha, Koumas and Nyoni trained with Iraola and Co. at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday, with the trio to be named in the final 23-man matchday squad.
Moreover, neither Mor Talla Ndiaye nor Will Wright are eligible for the Champions League this season, and thus cannot be added to the squad – though they will feature in the UEFA Youth League.
