A former Pars striker has left Liverpool to join Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, according to reports.
Mark Burchill, who scored 24 goals in 84 appearances during his three-year spell with Athletic between 2005 and 2008, has followed former Reds sporting director Richard Hughes to the Saudi Pro League club.
The 46-year-old served as Liverpool's chief scout after joining the Anfield club in March 2024 following a successful working relationship with Hughes at Bournemouth.
According to The Athletic, Burchill is among a number of backroom staff making the move to Al Hilal after Hughes' departure from Liverpool.
The former Scotland international enjoyed a lengthy playing career that included spells with Celtic, Hearts, Portsmouth and of course Dunfermline, where he played a key role in the club's survival in 2005/06.
Burchill was part of Liverpool's recruitment set-up during a period of significant squad investment and restructuring under Hughes.
His departure represents another notable change within the Premier League side's scouting department, with Craig McKee, the club's head of scouting operations, also reportedly making the switch to Saudi Arabia.
Hughes left Liverpool following the recent transfer window, bringing an end to his two-and-a-half-year stint at Anfield.
