Erick All has the potential to be a talented pass-catching tight end in the NFL. That’s why the Bengals selected him in the 2024 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to really show it because he’s been injured throughout much of his young career in the league and in college football as well, which is why he fell to them in the fourth round.
All dealt with a back injury in 2022, and then tore his ACL in his right knee in 2023, missing the second half of the season. Then, in his rookie season, he tore the same knee again, which cost him the rest of 2024 and the entire 2025 season thanks to complications that required a second surgery.
Now, he’s back and cleared to play in his third season. He’s not dwelling on the past, though.
“Not really thinking about it. Like now, it kind of gets you, but when you’re out there, you kind of forget about that part of it, and you just play,” [All said in an interview with Fox 19’s Gabi Sorrentino](https://x.com/GSorrentinoTV/status/2096656949949386983).
All’s spot on the 53-man roster, as long as he came into the season healthy, was really never in doubt. However, with so many mouths to feed in this offense, including Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of role he plays in the offense, and how that role evolves.
All hopes to make it through an entire season for the first time since his 2021 season with Michigan, when he led the Wolverines in receptions with 38 catches for 437 yards and two touchdowns. He played in 13 games with eight starts that season.
“Individually, just making it out of the season healthy, and really, that’s all I care about, to be honest,” said All. “I don’t care about anything else. I mean, as long as I’m doing good and we win games, then that’s all I really care about.”
With Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample, and rookie Jack Endries on the roster to go with the talent at wide receiver, All will have his work cut out for him. Hopefully, he achieves his goal and helps the Bengals get back into the playoffs.
