**Arsenal won’t “force” Viktor Gyokeres to leave the club during the January transfer window, according to _talkSPORT_ reporter Ben Jacobs.**
There has been plenty of speculation about the Swedish international’s future, but speaking on [_GiveMeSport_‘s Market Madness podcast](https://www.youtube.com/live/NgjV9JaK7LI), Jacobs said that if Gyokeres departs the Emirates, it is more likely to happen at the end of the season:
“Mikel Arteta said Gyokeres would 100% stay, and that is my expectation for the season. I’m not aware of anything behind the scenes trying to force him out of the club or any imminent winter exit, but it will be true over the course of the next few windows that if the right offer comes in that meets Arsenal’s valuation and is something Gyokeres wants, I don’t expect Arsenal to stand in his way.”
“But, I would be surprised if that is in a winter market when he still has value to the squad. In the summer of 2027, Gyokeres’ future may become more of a topic of conversation.”
Gyokeres has been used sparingly by Arteta

Despite scoring 21 times in all competitions (and providing 3 assists) in his first season with the Gunners, the striker did not even make it off the bench for the first two Premier League fixtures, with manager Mikel Arteta favouring Kai Havertz.
Gyokeres was given the last 15 minutes [**against Chelsea**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-player-ratings-chelsea-5/) last weekend, but he looked decidedly rusty, with his performance being derided by fans and pundits.

Jacobs claims that Gyokeres WAS included in an offer for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, but the deal never had any legs due to the Argentinian’s reluctance to make the move to the Emirates.
He also suggests that Saudi Arabian clubs are circling the 28-year-old, so there is a chance that the player could follow Gabriel Martinelli to the Middle East over the coming months.
