**Liverpool were wrongfully on the receiving end of a penalty against Nottingham Forest.**
Morgan Gibbs-White put the visitors ahead during Andoni Iraola’s opening Premier League home match at the end of August following Alisson’s foul on Neco Williams.

However the Premier League’s Key Match Incidents panel has now ruled Iraola’s side were unfairly penalised with the spot kick award against the Tricky Trees.
Referee Sam Barrott was not sent to the pitchside monitor by Michael Oliver on VAR duty as the incident did not meet the threshold for an on-field review.
But while the panel was unanimous in the view that the VAR stance was correct, they voted 3-2 against Barrott’s original decision to award the penalty for the foul.
“The contact from Alisson was inevitable as a consequence of his momentum in attempting to save the ball,” said the panel.
“The contact made was not reckless and below the threshold for a penalty.
“However, the non intervention by the VAR was unanimously supported on the basis that it was not a clear and obvious error.”
The Forest penalty came just six days after Liverpool had been the beneficiaries of a stoppage-time penalty at Newcastle United for Lewis Hall’s foul on Munoz.
