A former Liverpool player who received glowing praise from both Jurgen Klopp and Steven Gerrard has posted on LinkedIn looking for his next club

Former Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria has taken his search for a route back into football to professional social media platform, LinkedIn. Ejaria, 28, made eight appearances for the Reds and earned his debut under Jurgen Klopp weeks before his 19th birthday.
While on the books at Anfield, he joined Sunderland, Rangers and Reading on loan, before completing a permanent move to the Royals in 2020. He made 127 appearances at the Berkshire club but has since found himself without a club after enduring a failed stint at Real Oviedo in Spain.
His six years at Reading was hampered by knee issues and after being released by Oviedo, he has been out of football. Almost exactly 10 years on from his top-flight debut in Liverpool's 6-1 win over Watford, Ejaria has taken new measures to return to the sport.
He wrote: "I'm currently a free agent and looking for the right opportunity. I'm keeping the details brief for now, but if there's an opportunity or you know of a club looking for midfielder -- (6, 8 & 10) or someone who can play as a left winger, please feel free to DM me."
Two of Ejaria's eight Liverpool outings came in the Premier League while he made three appearances in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
He'd joined Liverpool from Arsenal in 2014 and was in Klopp's first team by September 2026. The iconic German tactician famously highlighted Ejaria as an example for young players joining the senior squad during training camps.
The midfielder impressed Klopp during a March getaway. He said: "I told the boys before the session [on Tuesday] that last year, Ovie Ejaria came onto my plate, if you want.
"I saw him here first. I knew him, I saw him playing a few times, but here having him around for four days and seeing him in small spaces in the sessions against the 'adults', if you want, was very important for him and for me.
"It's an opportunity. You can see in their eyes they know it; they are really ambitious when they think about the sessions and we will try to do everything we can to give them the opportunity to impress.
"There's no doubt about the attitude, there's no doubt about quality – it's only a question of are they already ready or not? If not, then they still have time. If yes, then let’s make the next step."
Gerrard, meanwhile, took Ejaria on loan while in charge at Rangers. Despite only spending half-a-season at Ibrox, the former Liverpool captain's feelings on the young star were clear.
"I have always said to Ovie that nobody will ever judge you in terms of technical ability because you have got more technical ability than anyone, than I ever had.'"
