Commanders Playoff Finish

Missed the playoffs

Lose in Divisional Round

* It’s a two-horse race for the NFC East crown between the defending NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles, and the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles broke the NFC East curse to win the division in back-to-back years, but there’s not much faith they can do it again.

* The Commanders are only predicted to make the playoffs by half the writers this year, a sharp dropoff from last year’s unanimous vote of confidence to return to the playoffs. The 5-12 finish and some OL questions have dampened the projections for year 3.

* Jayden Daniels was getting NFL MVP votes last year. This year he has 6 votes for Comeback Player of the Year.

* 9 of 10 writers are picking the Los Angeles Rams to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

* The Bills are the AFC Super Bowl pick for 5 writers with the Broncos and Ravens the next most popular with two votes. The Bengals round out the conference with one vote to return to the Super Bowl.

* The Rams are favored by 7 writers to win the Super Bowl with the super team they assembled. The Bills get the other 3 votes as they continue their quest for their first Lombardi Trophy.

* This year, there were no categories where there was unanimous agreement. Several only had a lone dissenter.

* Myles Garrett is the heavy favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year

* The NFC goes through the West?

The NFL season kicks off tonight with a Wednesday Night Football game that’s a Super Bowl rematch between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. It continues tomorrow with two more NFC West teams facing off as the San Francisco 49ers play the Los Angeles Rams in Australia.

So there you have it; we’ve made all of our best guesses for the forthcoming NFL season. Now we get to enjoy the fruits of our labors and finally get to sit back and watch some football, and hopefully see the Commanders play well enough to make us proud.

Let us know what you think of our picks and share your predictions for the season in the comments section. Happy season kickoff day!
