The Denver Broncos have some interesting questions they need to answer this season. After a big season that saw them make it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, there are a ton of expectations for the team. Most of these expectations are based on the offense, led by quarterback Bo Nix, taking another leap and propelling them to the top of the league.
Nix's teammates certainly think that he's capable of making that leap. When asked about his quarterback, Broncos star cornerback Pat Surtain said that Nix is ready to “make a statement.” Surtain gave a glowing review of Nix, per Zac Stevens.

Nix had himself a solid season last year for the Broncos. In his second year under Sean Payton, Nix threw for 3,931 yards while completing 63.4% of his passes. While his accuracy and completion rate took a dip, Nix compensated for it with his creativity and his timely scrambling. He threw 25 touchdowns to 11 interceptions, and added 786 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns.
Nix talked a little bit about slowing down his processing this year and allowing the game to come to him more. The Broncos quarterback wants to be more familiar with Sean Payton's offense, which is heavily predicated on timing routes.
“When you have a second-nature thought process and you know the play and you’re not thinking about operation, or emotion or a route concept or a handoff point, you can attack the defense in a little bit more of a strategic way,” Nix said, per Jeff Legwold of TSN. “So my eyes are up a little bit more. I just feel comfortable. I’m excited about the growth and know that there’s plenty left, but also I feel strongly where I’m at.”
The Broncos open their season on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs.
