This summer, Joao Pedro will stay at Chelsea. Arsenal decided not to go ahead with the transfer move for Pedro, as per latest transfer news.
Arteta turns down lucrative offer for Pedro
Arsenal refused the transfer deal for Pedro this year, as per recent news. The management at Arsenal showed their interest in the 24-year-old striker. However, Arteta didn’t share the same thoughts, as reported by Metro. Despite the player being on their wish list for a long time, he wasn’t sure if he could fit in the squad last summer. This is why the Gunners decided to look for other options. Pedro has been part of **Chelsea**since 2025. The Brazilian striker was signed for a total amount of £60 million from Brighton & Hove Albion last year. He previously played for Brighton & Hove Albion between 2023 and 2025. He also played for Watford between 2020 and 2023.
Pedro’s stats for the 2025-26 season at Chelsea, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Matches Goals Assists
Premier League 35 15 5
FA Cup 4 2 0
EFL Cup 3 0 1
UEFA Champions League 8 3 0
FIFA Club World Cup 3 3 0
Will Pedro remain at Chelsea next year?
Joao Pedro will not be leaving Stamford Bridge anytime soon. Pedro signed a long-term contract with the Blues a month ago. According to the contract, Pedro can play for Chelsea till 2032. The Brazilian played well for the Blues last year. He scored 15 goals for Chelsea in the 2025-26 Premier League. He also scored the winning goal at the FIFA Club World Cup final last year. Chelsea won the Club World Cup title for the second time since 2021. Even in the current Premier League season, Pedro has begun on a good note. He has scored 2 goals and 2 assists till now.

The road ahead for Joao Pedro
Pedro is doing well this season. However, if he wants to make a huge impact in club football, he needs to work on his fitness first. The striker got multiple injuries last year. Thankfully, none of them were very serious. Sadly, despite his brilliant form at the Premier League, Pedro was dropped from the Brazil team for the FIFA World Cup. Probably it had some impact on the team performance as well. For the first time since the 1982 edition, Brazil did not make it to the quarterfinal. Norway defeated them 2-1.
Meanwhile Arsenal are still doing well without Pedro. The Gunners haven’t lost a single match till now and are just behind Manchester City, who are the table toppers for now. Although both the clubs have nine points each, the Sky Blues are ahead thanks to the goal difference between the two. Team manager Mikel Arteta is enthusiastic with the team’s performance. Now he wants a second consecutive League title for the Gunners.
On the other hand, Joao Pedro has got another opportunity to prove his mettle for Chelsea. With Xabi Alonso as the team manager, the team aims to end the Premier League title drought. Pedro knows that he won’t get such an opportunity again. If he proves his mettle, Pedro can stay in Chelsea for as long as he wants to. It’s been almost a decade since the Blues last won the Premier League title. If Pedro can help the Blues in winning it, he has a bright future ahead. It remains to be seen if he is equally interested in playing for Chelsea or not.
