LOS ANGELES (KFYR) – The Los Angeles Lakers are honoring Hall of Fame Coach Phil Jackson, who grew up in North Dakota, with a statue outside of Crypto.com Arena.
Jackson coached the Lakers for 11 total seasons and guided the franchise to five NBA championships.
He grew up in Williston and played college basketball at the University of North Dakota.
The statue will be unveiled on April 9, 2027, ahead of the Lakers’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
